Web Developer

This position will give you the opportunity to design and build projects for high profile clients, as well as developing ArisTech Media products. Our new developer will produce cross-browser, standards-compliant,  front-end code (HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, etc.) which will be integrated into our WordPress content management system. This position is looking for freelance candidates.

A candidate should have experience with:

• Building web-based applications, services and websites with advanced functionality
• Object-oriented programming, patterns, and frameworks
• PHP and other web programming languages
• SQL and a working understanding of best practices
• Full and detailed understanding of XHTML, CSS, web standards and semantic web markup
• Web services and AJAX delivery
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery. Additional frameworks (MooTools, Dojo, Prototype, Yahoo! UI, etc.) a bonus
• Must exhibit a passion for producing clean, standards-based semantic mark-up. Must also have a passion for researching and learning emerging web technologies
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and image optimization techniques are vital
• Must have an understanding of browser capabilities and design constraints on the web, with expertise in developing and testing across multiple browsers & platforms
• The ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment, is essential
• A self-motivator and not afraid to ask questions

An ideal candidate will also have:

• Server admin/configuration experience.
• Integrating with WordPress or other CMS systems and open source packages.
• Experience with Kohana or another PHP framework (CodeIgniter, Symfony, CakePHP, etc.).
• Experience with Amazon’s cloud services (AWS).
• Some experience with visual design for the web.

Digital Designer

This position will give you the opportunity to design the front-end visual interfaces and experiences for WordPress websites.

We are currently seeking an experienced Digital Designer who will be expected to handle all day-to-day design production. The Digital Designer should have a gift for original thinking and a broad exposure to design and design styles. In addition, the Digital Designer should have a mastery of the tools involved in developing the interactive medium. He/she must have excellent communication skills and be a great team player.

A candidate should have experience with:

• A portfolio to demonstrate your work experience
• Fluency with Adobe Suite products, mainly Photoshop and Illustrator
• Strong conceptual thinking – both visual and interactive
• Good understanding of design principals (typography, color, layout, etc…)
• Ensure design consistency and quality
• Implement design feedback and revisions
• Ability to produce all necessary design elements, assets, templates, pages, graphics, etc… based on established design direction, systems and Style Guide

An ideal candidate will also have:

• Experience as one or multiple of the following: Information Architect, Content Strategist, Interaction Designer, or Experience Designer
• Knowledgeable about user experience best practices and user-centered design
• Conceptual understanding of web services and AJAX delivery
• Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash
• Demonstrated process and ability to develop big ideas, and execute against them in a highly collaborative environment
• Demonstrated experience developing user Experience Architectures (comprised of wireframes, sitemaps, user interaction scenarios, and prototypes) for multi-channel applications
• Demonstrated experience working with web, iPhone, mobile, kiosk, email, hand held devices
• Ability to ask appropriate questions and communicate effectively and persuasively to convey solutions both internally and to the client
• Self-motivated and self-managing, able to work independently
• Comfortable working with tight deadlines and multiple projects in parallel
• Demonstrated experience conducting user research and translating user research into design rationale
• Experience with WordPress themes
